Textures are also not that amazing, just saying, RE5 is the perfect example of a lot of work with a good engine not coming together in harmony to make a product that conveyed the feeling they wanted to give. I have the feeling it has a lot to do with Mikami having no involvement since typically things don't come together because of a leader not having a clear vision from the start of what they wanted to produce. Anyway IGN gave the game an overall 9.0 which is laughable at best since RE5 was just another game that was turned into a forgettable product that is meant to please the here and now and not be something special 10 years from now, for me only those special kind of games should reach the 9.0 status, it was hyped, people bought it, beat it in no time cause it was a very short game, the story was bad so no one cares to experience that again, they simply play multiplayer if they go back, which co-op made the game bearable since the AI was just bad. Sorry as a fan of horror games I simply can't get behind Resident Evil 5. |
The game was meant to be played in co-op and that's what I did and it was awesome.
Anyway, whether it's an action game or a horror game, the game was very polished.

the damn game looks sterile, it's much too clean to capture the gritty Resident Evil feeling, and I said the engine is great but it works best for the game it was designed for, Lost Planet, since the clean look works for the ambiance of the series.
