FF has been a commercial success since the 80s. I don't WoW will be overtaking that any time soon. It's been so massive for such a long period of time I doubt WoW is more popular.

If more people know what FF is than WoW and play it more (what popularity is basically), would it not be what comes to someone's mind when RPG is said?
