Well i agree that too many chars , no speed and 3D are not big reasons but the game camera is a huge reason. I've gotten nausea because of Rayman 3's mediocre camera (great game other than that. Also exploring is a big reason because the 2D Sonic games were getting through a level as fast as possible, and thus exploring adds more time and takes away the sonic feel.
Nintendo fan, though i also like the PS1-era Sony

Wii- 23 million- Brawl will hopefully make it higher.
360-20 million- GTA IV's release date will be a big factor
PS3- 12 million- Same as 360, MGS4 also big factor
