Yes, and they are both not aiming their products at the same kind of market.  Handhelds have yet to replace living room consoles.  And are even further from replacing home entertainment in general. 

Viewing 3D movies on the 3DS with your family? 

When it comes to the tech behind it, Nintendo is doing very good with the 3DS. I can't say otherwise.  Yet, mocking the glasses version of 3D like Reggie did during this year's E3 to promote their device is petty.  The same as when Butler mocks the Wii or Kinect.   But Nintendo isn't just mocking Sony in this case, but the entire current 3D TV industry.  As if to say to the consumer that their product can replace what you could get for your living room when it's obviously not the case at this point in time since the tech is just nowhere there yet.
