Hey now, my other idea is doing quite good.  Only 25 out of 572 voters voted it down:

http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/ideas/2010/04/04/xmb-access-at-all-times/

I guess there's nothing really hateable about the idea.  It's a feature that anybody with some sense would want, and everybody else wouldn't care enough to vote down.  xD

That was a pretty nice suggestion actually . But why exempt PS2 titles?

It was moreso that I didn't think the feature would be viable with PS2 titles, given that you currently don't even stay connected to the PSN when playing PS2 games via hardware emulation,

Even if they could get ps2 playback working via software emulation like ps1 titles, I don't think they'd have the headroom to support in-game XMB at the same time.

Thus, l phrased it in a way that asks for XMB access at all possible times... even if it's not possible for ps2 games.

I see then It would be a very good idea indeed, much less hassle trying to navigate on the PS3 menus if they can be available at all time.
