Maybe games are art.  Maybe they aren't.  Why did we ever care so much in the first place?  You can call them art, murder simulators, wastes of time, or whatever.  As long as they're fun experiences, that's all I ever cared about. 

Ebert is in pretty bad shape.  I guess he wants to make his peace.  I can appreciate this.  Still, he was unqualified to make the statement that "video games could never be art" in the first place and gamers were way too sensitive to his comments in response.  The whole scenario was never news worthy.
