I haven't played or even wanted to play Demon Souls (just not my type of game) but Alan Wake is one of those BIG games. Not "big" in length, but it's one of those games that you only experience a few times in a generation --like Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, Batman AA, Resident Evil, or Gears of War 2. The experience is beautiful and polished and it'll remind you of why you love gaming.
I hear Demon Souls is a great game for its audience so whatever you buy, buy with confidence!
