Simulated drowning?

Consider this now all too possible scenario due to changes that were made to this country's legal system over the past 6 years.

You make a comment or ask a question on the internet that government officials can skew as support of terrorists or terrorist action.

The state department declares you an Enemy Combatant without any need for a warrant or legal authroization, strips you of your citizenship, hauls you off to Guantanimo, and starts using these "techniques" on you.

How do you feel about the process now? What if it happened to a friend or family member?

Just because a terrorist organization might do that to US citizens does not mean we should sacrifice our morals and do the same. In that case you could justify any action as there is a person or group on this planet that would do pretty much anything.

Should we allow canibalism of canibals? Should we kill the children of children killers? (Oh wait, I think we already did that, its called the Iraq war)

The UN just passed a measure headed by the European union to ban the death penalty. Guess who were the two leading dessentors:

The US and Iran.

We have become morally bankrupt and fueled by perpetual fear, we allow ourselves to turn a blind eye to what we know to be wrong just so we can feel that one less bad guy is not out in the world (whether its true or not,) and THAT is the exact opposite of the principles the US was founded upon. It makes me sad, angry, and ashamed.
