"What did you do?"

I did nothing. Well, maybe what I should do and didn´t was to suck up. I can't be a bootlicker. I just can't. Now that I think about it, there's nothing wrong about it. I mean, if that is what it takes, maybe I'll do it. But it is not in me. I felt that the only thing I should do is my job. You know, do it the best I can. But at the end it had nothing to do with performance. It was a matter of politics.

The thing is that the system is designed for the employer to let go the employees with virtually no previous notice. I feel it was wrong, they should have told me in advance, but it wasn't anything illegal. They usually tell people one month before the contract expires. They told me one week before so it caught me totally off guard. Nobody saw that coming.

Sure, I will take any job, I don't know if they would offer me something. Most of the times I have tried that, they tell me that I am overqualified, so they don't hire me.

In the end, the problem is not finding another job. I think I will. My problem is ... how not to lose my head in the meantime?

Wow, 1 weeks notice? I had about 2 hour notice at my last job. I worked my ass off for them and once I had finish my task (part of the job was so shit they couldn't get anyone else to do it, previous employees had just not turned up the next day) I was told not to come in the next day. I was definitely the hardest worker there and I had done the other parts of the jobs other people were hired too do. I was there for about 4 months..

Now I'm in my first solid job and pretty happy that I won't just be made redundant at any moment.
