Yea, the new ones only have a fail rate of about 15%, which is quite a bit better then over 30%. Why should you pay for online service when you can get it for Free with the PS3? That's just an additional cost that I could put towards another game every year. Halo 3 sucks. I had it, played and beat the single player game. Only played about 5 hours online and quit because of how horrible the online game is. There's also nothing like listening to kids scream racist comments and swear all the time because they think it's cool. The 360 is coming off to me as the "Kiddie" console where all the immature and antisocial kids go on to cuss and be disrespectful to everyone. I'm sure everyone loves to play a game and hear some kid cussing, dropping the "N" word, and whining in a high pitched voice proclaiming how wonderful they are and how they "Pwned" you. There's nothing quite like having a enema with a elephant trunk, but that doesn't mean I want to do that. If you want to self fellate yourself and the 360, do it in the microsoft section of the forums here. Lightbleeder made his decision and stated quite eloquently why he wants a PS3 and there is nothing that the fanboys can do to change his opinion on his decision to buy a PS3. Lightbleeder, when you pick one up, put me on your friends list and we can play some games online. With all you said, I'd just go with the 40gb, it will do all that you want it to do. |
LOL! I can't believe you just called me a fanboy. Perhaps you could help me out with something else. I've always felt I preferred steak over pasta, but now I'm wondering if I really do. Can't you please just tell me which one I prefer so I'll know what I should order next time I eat out?
All kidding aside, I think my post was fairly balanced. I was trying to correct what I felt was perhaps a wrong impression of the 360 situation, so that the OP could make a better informed choice. I wasn't trying to convince him not to get a PS3.
From the feedback I've seen online and from people I know that have had 360's replaced, the newer units appear to be less prone to go face down in the dirt. Yep, that's definitely anecdotal evidence, but I was trying to balance out the rediculous FUD that someone was spreading, i.e. - all 360's will suffer from RROD. The latter is simply not a supportable argument in any way, shape or form.
I also told the OP that I couldn't fault his decision to pay for online play if $50 per year was a steeper price than he wanted to pay.
But I do stick by my impressions of online Halo 3 play. A large part of it depends on which games you join. I'm sorry you were only able to find a bunch of juveniles that were impolite and ruined the experience for you. For me, I love playing online, and considering the number of Halo 3 hours logged online by MS, there are quite a few other people who enjoy it as well. And for the record, I'm 47, but I still enjoy playing it... yeah, yeah, the younger guys can clean my clock, but I still have fun.
