I understand where your coming from here. The whole copying thing. 

But I think more importantly it would hurt Move and Sony's image if they were to release another peripheral and games for it. To many variations on 1 system would drop support for each and show Sony lack of direction.

They should now go with Move fully, and wait till next gen for an upgrade. Kinect will already have the market for the controller free market. 

Sony should fully get behind Move. Their eggs need to be in 1 basket.

I agree with what you said, it would look like a huge lack of vision if they started to copy kinect, at least with move there is evidence of R&D from 2004 (even if the current controller look has been inspired by the wii).

I am not sure they should go that direction at all with just 3d camera tech, i mean i have an eyetoy and it's fun and it only does it in 2d, but it really does lack the physical connection you need, which is something to hold, and you need buttons for more complicated games.
