@mattbfg and HideoK:

30 hours into the game is a long way to go from where I'm currently at. I just started Chapter Two and I think I'm about 2 hours into the game. So far the story has been okay. The dialog and voice acting is cringe worthy at times. I think I ran down the same hallway about 4 times before reaching a more 'open' area to explore a bit. The battles have consisted of just selecting auto-battle and using the odd potion when needed. I really hope it progressively gets better the further I get into the game. I don't want to be doing this for 30 hours just to get to the good stuff.

A couple of questions if someone doesn't mind answering:
1. I noticed that weapons and accessories have EXP, but I haven't been gaining any from battles. How do these items gain EXP? Do you have to get to a certain point in the game before the items start gaining EXP?

2. Like the first question, I'm guessing the same goes for character leveling? This starts happening after a certain point?

3. I've been getting items like Fangs after some of the battles. Are these items just sold to acquire GIL, or can they be used for other things later in the game like crafting, etc ?

Thanks!

When you reach the chapter when you have to change your paradigms that's where the battle gets interesting and hard. A lot strategy involved (there are enemies that might kill with just one attack and that's not the boss). You should always have to pay attention or else your main characters might end up dying and gameover. Just bear with it. It will get interesting later on.

1. You will gain exp on Weapons and accesory when you upgrade your weapons but you won't be able to upgrade your weapons yet until  you have beaten few chapters.

2. As for the characracterters you use CP to strenghten your characters. It will explain later on. It's like the Sphere Grid on FF X if you have played it.

3. Don't sell it you will need it for upgrading your weapons and Accessory. There are certain items that you can sell for gaining gils. Like Credit chip and incentive chip. Just read the item descriptions so will know which item to sell.
