I was at a BBQ last week and 6 of my friends there had iphones and none used cases. Some people don't want to ruin the look of their pretty device with an ugly silicon case, by the same token they will not be sticking bits of tape on the phone either. Once again though people will defend Apple's insistance of form over function, it's madness. |
I'm not defending the design flaw (I even say it's a design flaw if you read the post), I'm just saying it's not a big deal. Even if you don't use a cover, it's a very small piece of clear tape, again, not a big deal. It sucks that it's there but it's also an extremely easy workaround.
I know an extremely large amount of people with iPhones that range from giant Apple dorks to giant dorks to non-techy to even a guy that developed a certain highly successful app (it was even featured in one of the iPhone commercials!) and all but I think maybe two of them don't have a cover. From everything I've ever seen, it's safe to say most iPhone owners own a cover. I'm not saying all, just most.
Obviously no design flaw is better but when most people aren't even going to notice it (whether they're right handed or use a case) and those that do (lefties that don't want a case) have an easy fix it's not something you should rush out and grab the toches and pitchforks over.
