There are two very simple fixes for this: 1) put a small piece of tape on the area you're not supposed to touch or 2) put a cover on your iPhone. Both of those completely eradicate that problem. Considering I don't know anyone who doesn't use some sort of case for their iPhone, not many people should really even care about this. I was at a BBQ last week and 6 of my friends there had iphones and none used cases. Some people don't want to ruin the look of their pretty device with an ugly silicon case, by the same token they will not be sticking bits of tape on the phone either. Once again though people will defend Apple's insistance of form over function, it's madness.
