US set up for 2 players (which is what we're hearing Kinect can support up to), ground up, using MSRP...

Wii

  • $200 console (includes Remote, Nunchuck, Motion Plus, Wii Sports & Wii Sports Resort)
  • $50 remote bundle (includes Motion Plus)
  • $20 Nunchuck
  • $20 Classic Controller Pro (x2)
  • $310 total
Xbox 360
  • $300 console (Type S, includes wireless controller, headset, 250GB HDD, Kinect-ready)
  • $150 Kinect (includes... ???)
  • $50 wireless controller
  • $500 total
PlayStation 3
  • $300 console (slim, includes DualShock 3, 120GB HDD)
  • $100 Move Starter pack (includes PS Eye, Move controller, Sports Champions?)
  • $55 DualShock 3
  • $50 Move controller
  • $30 Move subcontroller (x2)
  • $565 total

There's a game coming with the Dualshock now.

And you forgot to add batteries :P

If I'm adding batteries, perhaps we should also weigh electricity costs each console yields and television prices by resolution. ;)

Wii remote also comes with a game (Wii Play or soon Wii Party), though it'd add $20 for a 2nd Motion Plus.  Of course the DS3 bundles are also $60 MSRP, so that's $5 higher.  I tried to go with "standard" hardware and not get into seasonal or value bundles.  I also stayed away from cables (all 3 would warrant additional purchases though to get the best IQ).
