It's not quite as impossible for Need for Speed to outdo Gran Turismo as people seem to think.
The best selling NFS of the generation had the following sales
X360: 2.08 million
Wii: 0.93 million
Ps3: 1.79 million
DS: 0.11 million
PsP: 0.61 million
Ps2: 2.29 million
Total: 7.8 million
It's not definite that GT5 will beat that (likely, but not dead on certain). Of course, the next NFS is unlikely to reach those numbers.
