Well, 3rd Birthday will have a lot of tie ins and explanations about prior history, but I think it won't be enough. Parasite Eve and Parasite Eve 2 had a ton of history, and they're going to utilize PE2's history a lot.
I hope that S-E and Sony get their act together and release PE and PE2 on PSN before the launch of 3rd Birthday.
