Anyway, issue at hand. I don't care where it falls for graphics, I care more about what Square-Enix forgot a few years ago- how to make a game. These last couple of years have basically seen discs made for powerful systems, made with the mindset that "Make it look pretty; we'll slap the words 'Final Fantasy' onto it, and enough suckers will gobble it up!" They seem to have a team or 2 left that still knows how to make a game, but those releases are marginalized, as they're harder to market than the "Ooh, look at our pretty picture Final Fantasy!" games.

It pains me to see the company in this place; way back when, both Squaresoft and Enix meant quality games I would buy on name alone. Now they get extra scrutiny, and rarely bought by me. Ah well, I can thank them for letting me find my new favorite companies... who know that graphics don't need to be king- gameplay does.
