Wouldn't this be a question you ask before you decide to replace your old PS3?

I really dont want to. But my ps3 fan kicks into high gear after 5 minutes so im guessing it will get ylod soon or something

That's about the same state my 80gig BC PS3 was in when I decided it was time to get a Slim. :-p

I don't really care about losing the USB ports and I *hated* losing backwards compatibility, but I also hate touch sensitive buttons and my console being louder than my TV.

really? I actually like the touch sensitive buttons. It makes it feel more next gen and a future proof machine.

Oh yeah, I don't think I've ever had a device where I like the touch sensitive buttons, they're actually the biggest reason I don't want a new 360.

My TV has a touch sensitive button and it's hidden so well I still don't know exactly where it is (I find it every now and then when I'm dusting), my monitor has one and it just plain doesn't fucking work half the time, they're a pain in the ass on my old PS3 when trying to turn it off, and I just plain don't like them.

They're cool in theory but they're either too well hidden, turn on at the worst tirmes, or a pain to use.  I was overjoyed that the PS3 Slim didn't have them.
