It's doing so well on the charts! :) Thank you for the warm welcome!

The fact that it's doing well on the charts doesn't mean anything. Most mainstream music is nothing, but trash.

I disagree. Music from the past greats were considered pop now a days, this generation its all women and women are easily coined as trashing if they dont sing anything other than love songs.

...what?

So are you telling me that music from albums  like Dark Side of the Moon, Led Zeppelin IV, Closer to the Edge, Powers;ave, Master of Puppets, Selling England by the Pound, Thick as a Brick, would've been considered as pop today? Are you high?

And anyway, I don't see how you can "jam" to a pop song, what instrument are you using?

And - Why bother talking about a song that no one is going to remember 12 months from now?

I said considered pop back then! Not now. That stuff wouldn't sell records today.

Stop, please if you want to hold some shred of credibility, just stop.

Do you even know any songs in those albums? Are you really saying that Master of Puppets would be considered pop back in the days? Metallica being pop?

You seriously have some reality issues if you think that statement is correct.

Here's a reality check for you:

Next time you even bother to come up with a ludicrous comment like that, please for everyone's sake, keep it to yourself.

Like it has been said, no one is going to remember Katy Perry's summer of 2010 song or most of her songs in 10 years from now. On the contrary, every one of those albums will be forever remembered as classics that shaped the panorama of music.

And before you pull the sexism card, like you always do: Heart and Joan Jett (I'll spare you the trouble of google them, they're female rock singers) >>>>>> Katy Perry and pretty much every female singer nowadays.

With the terrible state music is in right now, I see it possible for people to easily remember Katy Perry in 10 years....Look at Nickelback. They've been popular for almost 10 years and still won't go away.

I hope that you're wrong and that in 10 years the music panorama shifts, but as things are now, you're speaking the truth

That's why I've been out of the "mainstream" music since 2001-2002. It's just sad to see an overall lack of quality in most musical genres. Thankfully some classics still are being made today, but most people don't care about them.

It's pretty sad to see that in Rock In Rio 2010, Miley Cyrus day had more people than Rammstein day
