Should not be a problem for the PS eye : With such a game I don't think a 3d sensor camera will show a decisive advantage over a 2d camera, especialy with footsteps. (It's only my opinion btw) |
I'd expect any shortcomings of the camera for positioning/tracking to be compensated for with the use of the Move controllers (or even 2 controllers). Honestly, I don't see much issue with a conversion overall.
The real meat of Kinect is in it's libraries and processing, which is something that MS has been actively working with 3rd parties on. Weekend Confirmed had a good segment about in their E3 podcast iirc, where they relayed a story 2nd hand from a developer at Harmonix about how MS worked directly with them whenever they encountered recognition/tracking problems (loose clothing and mesh clothing being 2 big ones) and how that troubleshooting would be reflected in the next build. I think this is going to be Kinect's real advantage upfront, it just seems like Microsoft's sinking a lot in software side that's giving it so much more capability.
That's also good news for Sony though, because it means they might be competitive by also building up their own libraries rather than throwing out even more hardware...
