You don't see Sony just putting out sequel after sequel featuring  Jak, Crash, Spyro, Ratchet, or Sly this gen.

lololol!  Oh god, I don't think the world can take that much irony.

Actually... did Sony have any retail PS3 games at E3 that weren't direct sequels?  Was Heroes on the Move (a game featuring... well, almost all their milked mascots) and that soulless Harry Potter clone the only ones?

infamous23 is seemingly to much concentrated on new IPs instead of fun and original games, as if those supposedly new IPs were any good representation of smth actually new in gaming, whilst most of the time it's actually the opposite, and successful new IPs sell due to use of gameplay and content people already like. In fact, I did comparison of Nintendo new IPs sales this gen versus practically everybody else, do I need to say that they crushed the competition in every possible way?

Though If we try to make compraison another way by finding these "actually new" elements in them, I'm afraid there will be too much subjectivism involved and results may vary from person to person. So overall it's pointless work, but at least I can give my opinion on what I think about majority of so called new IPs this gen:

Try to compare the same way, say, Mario games this gen (SMG, Super Paper Mario, MKWii, NSMBWii) that supposed to be old and overused IP and nothing actually new, and hopefully see the difference ^_^
