Has Europe sales saved PS3 this Christmas from an embarrasment?

We started talking about your predictions, which are WW, so of course it came into the discussion. I haven't avoided anything. It wasn't clear whether your "far weaker" comment was in reference to Japan if you re-read your post. So I commented on both scenarios.

No it was clear we were talking about Japan, even your prediction was 8 million PS3's in japan

You said "its sales have been far weaker than the GCN". This is clearly incorrect. The difference is ~4-5% in Japan. FAR weaker has to be at least 10%, and that's being generous. That was my correction. I never said the PS3 was ahead.

Nope far weaker indicates that on a weekly basis it has a lower avergae and has yet to break 100K, in a week, while GCN did that 3-4 times in its first year, you're making up percentages at to what I was saying, but that is not what I was talking about.

You said "it will easily pass the PS2 and PS1 and PS3 combined." in reference to your sig prediction, which is obviously a WW prediction. This is why I commented that the PS2 and PS3 outsold it this year. I wasn't going on a tangent. If it outsells the PS2 + PS3 by 10 million next year (not going to happen), it will simply never out sell the Playstation brand.

wrong again do the math, all it has to sell is on average 30 million a year for eight year to pass the entire playstation family, very doable, also in reference to my sig prediction wasn't the issue of the discussion, it was a tangent you went off on, in relation to whose predictions were realistic.

I'm allowed to assume the PS3 will reach 8 million just as you're allowed to assume that Wii Fit will outsell all GTA's, past, present and future.

Not really since we have yet to see any evidence of the PS3 being adopted in japan to any great degree, on the other hand Wii is becoming a mass market hit, Wii fit will be a major staple of Wii ownership, so mine is a possibility, yours is not going to happen, PS3 has shown no signs of that level of interest in japan.

If you were only talking about Japan in those statements, or only about PS2 and not PS3, then you were very cryptic and you'll have to forigve me for misinterpreting.

That was in response to your tangent about my predictions being unrealistic, so I don't see how it was cryptic, you started that tangent.
