RROD is irrelevant. This is a software development/maturity issue, and given the fact that Kinect is the only interface of its kind theres nothing to directly compare it to in order for anyone to pass judgement. They are only going to offer games which suit the interface at the time of release, therefore its good enough. If that limits their potential sales the sobeit, they have the opportunity to offer improved games as the years/months pass. |
I agree that Kinect with its unicity is in the same good initial conditions of Balance Board. Just another good reason to avoid to risk ruining its image trying to make it do what it's not good at. It isn't a universal, general purpose interface, it's a special purposes (plural, because despite not being general, there are already multiple uses where it could be the best interface and others can be devised) one, but, like BB, with a potential appeal very wide. So the best MS can do is to push games where it can be the best, like dance, soccer, wrestling, some fitness ones and whatever else they can find, cheating users into believing it can be better than wheel and pedals for racers, and whatever else it's not really the best at, can only disappoint and piss them off, so damaging Kinect.
Edit: I realize that you said something similar to what I'm saying, maybe before I wasn't clear enough about referring only to MS pushing uses that Kinect isn't good at, or not ready yet.
