And yeah. That whole 3d-without-glasses idea. So lame and unoriginal. Should have done something unique like pioneered new motion controls like Sony and Microsoft. |
At the risk of this being pointless (since you just invented things I actually didn't say before), Kid Icarus is not a new IP, no matter how old it is. I also didn't refer to Kid Icarus as a remake, although, after all these years, it just might be.
Remakes at Nintendo's show include StarFox64, Zelda OoT, Goldeneye, and Donkey Kong Country.
You know, I like Nintendo and all, too, but there's no reason to be get all touchy and be all snarky because someone brings up a (generally necessary) dissenting voice to the topic. Nintendo is living in the past, and they do routinely fail to support, promote, and release new and original IP's. Again, where the hell are Disaster, Fatal Frame, and Project HAMMER? What happened to Geist and the potential within an Eternal Darkness franchise?
I'd be happy to point out the obscenely long list of Nintendo living in the past if you like. To be sure, Punch-Out even qualifies.
Again, though, why would Nintendo bother with new stuff? Take a step back and observe the Nintendo fanboy types. All they ever do is ask for the same crap over and over again: "New Zelda! Remake Ocarina of Time! More anything with Mario! More and more Pokemon!" I know I'm in the minority of Nintendo supporters when I say, "give us something new, Zelda is a dead horse, give Metroid a break, for the love of all things good and wonderful in the world, stop putting Mario in absolutely everything!!!"
