They brought no fewer than three remakes to E3. They very much are living in the past. Not one new franchise, experimental title, or expansive thought besides "making Kid Icarus 3-D" and "making Kirby interesting again." They're clearly overly dependant on pre-existing popular franchises, and obviously lack the confidence or ability to create new ones. Need more proof? They essentially buried anything that was "new" to them the past two generations. Eternal Darkness, Disaster, Fatal Frame, Project HAMMER--all under used, under appreciated, or flat out ignored. Nintendo can't go six months without putting out another title with Mario in it. |
Kid Icarus is basically a new IP at this point. Name one thing it has in common with the NES game besides the name (not design) of Pit, Palatena, Eggplant Wizard, etc.
And yeah. That whole 3d-without-glasses idea. So lame and unoriginal. Should have done something unique like pioneered new motion controls like Sony and Microsoft.
Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
