Looking at Crysis 2 (at least the console footage) it's not impressing me quite like the original did, in fact, not even close. That said, it DOES look good, nothing short of it.
To the Rage vs KZ3/Crysis 2 talk, I still think Killzone 3 may have the edge when all is said and done. From what I've seen of all of them, I think KZ3 still edges out the win, but Rage looks fantastic and Crysis 2 is right behind it. Rage will likely top them both with textures, Crysis 2 will probably top the others with colors, but Killzone 3 will have the overall prowess to pull off the win, I think. Of course it's exclusivity will play a major role, but it is what it is.

Crysis 2 and Rage will win on massive environments. All the previews as well say a enemy appeared before the end of the 20 min demo of Rage that was about the same size as the big ones from GOW3. 0.0
Worth noting to is Crysis 2's full destruction. Again worth noting is that Rage is running double the framerate of both Crysis 2 and Killzone 3.
None of the above games have as high a enemy count as Halo Reach, but KZ3 only impressed me for the water. And it was beautiful water. But the rest was very good. Just not Rage or Crysis 2 good.
Also worth noting is Crysis 2 is the only game of the above doing everything in full realtime.

Well from what I've seen around the net, the buzz is mainly on KZ3. Time will tell which will look better, even though none of it will matter in the long run but otherwise, all is speculation/opinion/perspective.
You do short change KZ3 though.

I'm not short changing KZ3. The water is the most impressive upgrade to KZ2.
It's also worth remembering technically, that Crysis 2 and Rage are sandbox environments. KZ3 is not. And you have to say Rage is so impressive with double the framerate over both Crysis 2 and KZ3.
With the media. I'm finding Rage is getting the most praise. And aparantly at the end of the 20 minute behind closed doors Rage demo was an enemy likened to the size of GOW3 enemies. Now with those visuals that is possible the most advanced tech Ive ever heard of in a game. It certainly dropped the jaws of gaming sites from what Ive read.

There are far more impressive upgrades to the engine than that. Some wuick research will provide that knowledge to you. In the grand shceme of it all, you have short changed it. Not a big deal, just an observation.
Again, it's all about perspective. Read the article 1up posted.1up says Rage and Crysis 2 look fantastic, but say that KZ3 tops them both. Other websites are saying something similar.
It's just an opinion though, nothing to get bent out of shape over.

theother link you posted here says this about the graphics. Notice it says a Graphics king, not 'the' graphics king. And the reason why is they say at present it's not a noticeable upgrade over 2. At the moment. I wont post the stuff about Rage, because I already posted 4 different websites opinions for Rage in this thread further back. So you can view them there.
But the link you provided said this.

Selnor, you're going to continue to run in needless circles. I understand your enthusiasm for Crysis 2, (hell I have the original game, so I get it) but this really is not that big a deal. All three titles will look fantastic when they release. Which one looks, subjectively, "better" or not won't matter in the slightest. But it is a shared opinion regarding Killzone 3, even if you don't share it.
But again, not a big deal.

It doesnt bother me as such. But saying it's a shared opinion is a bot far fetched. Ok yes among Sony fans it always will be a shared opinion. But 1 line from 1 up and an article saying the opposite of what many are saying here is far fetched. I know of 7 full articles saying much more positives about Rage for example. Including big cheeses like IGN and Gamespot.
All I'm saying is the media concesses outside of a sentence from 1up and an article saying current;y KZ3 is not much improved currently is all Ive seen said about KZ3 graphics. Whereas Rage is much more talked about in previews for graphics.
Thats all I'm saying to you.
I actually am a little shocked to still see people talking of PS3 exclusive graphics after this E3. I and many other gaming media were impressed by other games.

Maybe you don't surf N4G as much as myself, I've seen mainly talks of Killzone 3's visuals and jet pack game play, although I admit I have seen quite a few recent articles regarding Rage, but not many for Crysis 2.
And the reason people still speak of PS3 exclusives is because they've been the ones "wowing" the industry since Februrary 2009. Killzone 3 looks to raise the bar again, whether it's a shared opinion between us or not, that's just the way things seem to be headed. Rage is from a developer known to raise the bar as well, as are the Crysis 2 devs (though this will be the first shot at console gaming).
I'm not saying it's impossible for either title to top Killzone 3 (in fact, if there are two titles I see as capable of taking it head on, it'd be these two) but just because you don't agree doesn't mean the game is lacking or somehow PS3 exclusives are a thing of the past when discussing visual fidelity.
I'd honestly love to continue discussing this but it seems neither of us will be moved. If you'd like to continue, PM, I'll gladly discuss it there and not continue to disrupt the topic of the thread (after all, your thread is about Crysis 2 - not Killzone 3 or Rage).
