I really don't care if his school teacher would have given him an A. I also prefer Mario to Fallout because I like what I like and the rest of the world doesn't feel exactly the way that you do. I know that this must be difficult for you to hear, but it's true. I will agree with you that H.P Lovecraft is a great writer, but lets face it; it's the same story over and over just like Mario. |
You must not have read much by William S. Burroughs then, because Burroughs told many interesting stories such as Junky, The Man that Taught his Asshole how to Talk, and Cities of the Red Night.
Oh well, I prefer Jak to both Mario and Link because he combines the best qualities of both while inhabiting a much more interesting world than either.
Lovecraft doesn't tell the same story over and over. The political stance of Lovecraft changed, grew, and altered between his writing of "The Horror at Red Hook" and "The Shadow out of Time" and "The Mountains of Madness". Just read T. E. D, Klein's introduction in the Arkham House Edition of The Mountain of Madness and Other Tales. Also, Lovecraft grew from a fear of his alienation and ingrained racial prejudice in such stories as "Arthur Jermyn" and "The Outsider" to an acceptance of various races of and his own alienation in The Shadow Over Innsmouth.
Mario, for his part, has yet to do much more than hop on platforms and he's still failed to nail the princess in any of his games. And the latter is true for Link as well.
