Rage with pre backed lighting fall short off Killzone 3.

First pont.

Kilzone 3 - 30fps

Rage - '60 FPS'

I would love to see Killzone 3 at double the frame rate.

Easily one of the best looking video game I've seen so far at E3 2010.

Rage blew me with its rich, vibrant settings powered by id's new graphics engine. Oddly enough, for a game rife with gore and killing, what made the biggest impression on me wasn't the action or the violence but the gorgeous, "hand-crafted" environments that Rage creative director Tim Willits was enthusiastic about showing off to the audience. The tremendous level of detail on Rage's settings is emphasized by the game's powerful id Tech 5 engine. The Dead City, which is essentially a giant pile of collapsed skyscrapers, road signs, and concrete debris, was particularly impressive.

The long development time for Rage seems to be worthwhile. The new video footage from E3 2010 can be more than excellent. Rage is a top candidate for the title "graphic-Hammer."

We've seen and written about Rage  in the past, and many of the gameplay elements on display were repeat showings. Things like vehicular combat, a wicked bladed boomerang, and item scavenging were quickly shown to refresh everybody's memories, or get them up to speed. During this time, all I could do was sit back and marvel at the graphics. Rage is easily one of the best looking games I've seen, even with the entirety of 2010 left as development time for id to further polish it. The crazy part? The demo was shown on an Xbox 360 and id was happy to point out that the ''CURRENT'' PS3 version was running even more smoothly.
