Nintendo announced the 3DS in March because it was releasing this fiscal year, and without announcing a release date or price yet I think it is safe to discount it being released before September. At the same time, I highly doubt Nintendo would plan to just miss the holiday season, so I would expect that the 3DS wouldn’t be released in January through March of 2011 unless it is delayed. With how many units they had on hand, and how few problems people had with these systems, I would expect that the hardware is near completion and what is preventing Nintendo from releasing it is the availability of games; and with how many developers are working on it, and how far along some of the projects seem, in 5 or 6 months (October or November) Nintendo might have enough games ready to launch the system.
