It's hard to argue with what he said. It's true that Nintendo lost a lot of market share in the handheld market during the DS era. They've gone down from almost 100 % with the GBA to just about 70 %, that's a loss of approximately 30 %. That's the biggest decrease in market share Nintendo has ever seen generation over generation for any of their systems. Not even the Nintendo 64 or Gamecube lost so much market share to their competition within a single generation. The DS certainly is one of Nintendo's biggest failures, so it's no surprise that they are rushing a successor out of the doors in order to set things right again. |
don't forget the $381 million nintendo has lost on the DS alone!
