From a company point of view, the 3DS will help Sony as 3D will become more of a mainstream technology that everyone wants. So, they have the opportunity to sell more TVs, movies, etc.

However, from future PSP point of view, there is a reason no PSP2 has been mentioned yet. It will have a 3D screen (probably same screen) when Sony finally shows it off. If they don't they will lose the market share the current PSP has gained.

Lmao so when nintendo does something now, sony has to follow? That's not a correct assesment.. sony already said they don't think it's a good idea to implement 3d on a handheld.. Why would they make a 3D PSP?  What they can do is make the PSP a phone..

How is the idea of Sony following Nintendo funny and unexpected? Do I really need to list the numerous ideas/controllers/everything that Sony has copied since it took the idea that Nintendo gave it of a "Play Station" in the first place and entered the gaming world?

You're being a little too fanboyish here.

The next PSP is going to be one of two things.

A Androind smartphone that has far more gaming ability than any smartphone that exists.

or

A PSP-esque device that is more powerful, uses Android maybe, and has a 3D screen.
