I think most here can't understand Squilliam, because they are gamers. However Sony tries to reach for new groups of people (non-gamers) with the move. And belive it or not some of these people don't know what an USB-Port is. But they know what a battery or a rechargeable battery is. Because batteries are already established. The voltaic pile, which is the first electric battery, was invented in 1800.

You seem to think that a casual gamer is somehow a stupid person.  It does not work like that I am afraid.

First point: I tried to avoid the term casual gamer ...

Second point: Just because someone doesn't know what USB is doesn't mean he is stupid.

Most people on the internet are elitists. (Even I am one sometimes ...) They can't understand, that there are people out there who don't know all those computer abbrevations. The think that all people already have a computer in their household. And that everyone is connected to the internet. But this is just not the case.

Long story short: Batteries are more mainstream than USB-chargeable devices.
