PSP doesn't look prehistoric,it only looks what Wii is to PS360
the smartphone market is actually there now that most of th smartphones with high power required for gaming are available now at cheap price
i thINK PSP's 10 year life cycle thing was threatened by PSP2's launch and that would have killed PSP and made SONY's moto of 10 years defunt so they will launch it most probably next fall when PSP is 7 years and is more likely to sustain 10 years thing
also 3DS dust would have settled by then
