Distant were the days when Valve only supported Microsoft systems(X360, Windows, Xbox), giving them games like Half-Life 2 and Left 4 Dead exclusively.

But Valve is growing. The company took advantage of PC Gaming's supreme digital growth, and no longer does it need to fall back to Microsoft alone.

2010 is the year that Valve blasted barriers. Both of Valve's actions and influence went directly against the success of Microsoft:

  • Released Steam on MAC.
  • Announced the Release of Steam on LINUX.
  • Announced Portal 2 on PS3, calling it "The best console version".
  • Bethesda/Obsidian ditch GFWL in favour of Steam, for Fallout: New Vegas.
  • Eidos ditch GFWL in favour of Steam, for Kane & Lynch 2.
  • So Valve gave support to MAC, LINUX and SONY. The only Microsoft's competitor left is Nintendo.

"the best version on any console." means that the game will be equal on all consoles, so that there is no console bias. It's easy to mis-interpret though. What do Edios and Bethesda/Obsidian have to do with Valve being anti-Microsoft?They wouldn't be releasing games on Windows still if they just decided to smite Microsoft, Valve is just expanding.
