With the news that Sony are to launch a motion-sensing game controller platform for the PS3 called 'Move' to rival the Nintendo Wii, leading bookmaker Paddy Power are already taking bets on the first celebrity to feature in Sony's TV campaign for the new device.
Marketing gurus claim the success of the Nintendo Wii was, in no small part, due to a clever celebrity focused advertising campaign which featured some very famous faces having fun playing the Wii.
Football legend David Beckham OBE is Paddy Power's 6/1 favourite to be first to sign on the dotted line and front up the advertising campaign for the 'Move'. Becks is followed in the betting by ex-Man Utd team mate Cristiano Ronaldo and England midfielder Frank Lampard both at odds of 8/1.
Less likely to appear according to the bookies odds include love cheats Tiger Woods at 50/1 and Ronan Keating at 66/1 along with Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle at 250/1.
Paddy Power said "PlayStation have quite clearly taken the lead from the Nintendo Wii so they may as well replicate their advertising template too. I guess if it's not broken, why fix it?"
