I wouldn't say it's cheap. If you have a PC with a powerful Nvidia card already then yes the costs come down but starting from scratch is pretty hefty. Plus, they still use the glasses and I think this is a barrier for 3D.

MS is right that 3d tech at home needs to drastically come down in price before the mass market will buy it.
