3DS does play big-budget 3D movies, though. Thus Nintendo are showing at least some intent to go after part of the market that Sony (and their 3D tv's) cater to. Yes there are obviously differences, but you can't deny the fact that with that announcement Nintendo apparently intents to take 3DS beyond the boundaries of their traditional 'games-only' approach, and, infact, onto Sony's 3D turf. True, 3DS isn't a home theatre, but IF it sees success comparable to that of their past handhelds (and I'm betting it will), then Nintendo's (probably) affordable machines capable of playing 3D movies in the hands of 100 million (plus) consumers *could* be a pretty large inconvenience for Sony... |
how so..the PS3 is for Home Theatre, not portable!
the Iphone play's movies, many other handhelds play movies.
It's great Nintendo made their 3DS handheld an i am sure many other companies may take notice an follow with one of their own. that still does not mean those handhelds are for home theatre also. they are two seperate market's. just like the Handheld's and the game console's are also.
It's not an inconvenience because the PS3 game's are for the PS3 not a portable..just like the 3DS movie watching is for a portable not for home theatre.
it's apple's to oranges
