I noticed at last E3 that UbiSoft's show was filled with software that directly rivalled the competition with most of the same features and content. I'm used to pointing out Sony copying but I never thought that I would be wondering that about UbiSoft. UbiSoft last year revealed their own fitness camera that essentially worked almost identicle to Microsofts Kinect.
The camera was bundled with the software "Your Shape" this year we saw the pretty much sequal make its way to Kinect. But that wasn't the only time UbiSoft seems to copy the competition. What about that new device Innergy? The device goes on the tip of your finger infact I thought it was Vitality Sensor and I began to freak out. Turns out I was let down as it seems to do everything Nintendo says the Vitality Sonsor will. Then the new game that UbiSoft had hyped alittle earlier, they said at this E3 they would give gamers a game that revolutionalized gaming allowing us to do real world gaming. This revolutionary game is.....laser tag! Everything they did in the tech demo I have done at my local Laser Dome. Objectives running to bases and securing bases from enemy players. Infact Laser Tag is better in the fact that my local laser dome has multiple different games that can be played.
So in two years Ubisoft has copied three devices or at least ripped off the ideas for three devices. But wait UbiSoft doesn't even produce a console, why create so many of their own peripherals?
So why is UbiSoft stealing ideas? What do they have to gain? Could they be testing the hardware market for a potential console of their own?
