That and I don't think PS3 will stay st $299, especially with all of these rumors of a $199 PS3 with a 60gb harddrive (AKA Sony's Arcade model)

I don't think it would happen. It would be bold of Sony, but I bet they want to be green at least for one year. 

Just rumors but I've heard that the 120gb model will be phased out and the 250gb will take its place at $299 and they will also introduce a $199 60gb "Arcade"-like PS3, Not sure if there is any truth to this, we shall see tomorrow.
