MGS4: Guns of Patriots will be a flop if it's release date of late June holds. To release a game in the slow season for games in the US isn't the smartest. Sony should ask Konami to hold off until September.
It is a known fact that summertime in the US is a dead time for games. Most people spend the days outside in the sun.
The Wii isn't a fad and will continue to sell well in to 2008. The fact that they sold close to 1 Million consoles in November proves that.
XB360 sales will continue to stay even. Unless Microsoft comes up with something cleaver idea to boost sales. Maybe an exclusive first party game.
PS3 sales will not grow until Sony discontinues the PS2. I look for Sony to pull the plug on the PS2 some time in '08. The PS2 is eroding the sales of the PS3 look at the numbers and you will see if all those PS2 buyers were looking for PS3's Sony would be averaging 250K in sales per month instead of the pathetic 180K per month for Jan-Nov 2007. The XB360 avgeraged 366K and the Wii averaged 515K per month in the same time period in the US.
Don't conteract my numbers by saying the PS3 sold well in November and December. Holiday numbers are inflated, talk to me in March then we'll see if the PS3 sales are legit.
And yes I own a PS3, XB360, Wii
