LOL. I know these people (@ Project Offset). They actually building an engine more than a game and expect to license the engine to other companies. They already scored a license with some ex-Blizzard guys for a future MMO. Everything they shown until now is either running on some kick ass PCs or CGI movies and not running on a freaking 360 for sure. Believe me it will not look as good on the 360. Also you can be sure it will not be on the PS3 (at least not anytime soon) since the engine in running on top of DirectX and as far as I know they have no plans to port it to OpenGL. One more thing... don't expect this title until late 2009 the earliest. |
How do you sell a game engine by showing CGI scenes? I thought the point was to show off what can be rendered real-time. The whole game engine thing though does make sense being that alot of their footage is boosting in-game effects. Although this sounds like bad news it seems most of the time a game is built to boost a game engine the game usually comes out good. Look at Unreal, and Gears of War and such.
