Gaming - JRPG's are dead - View Post

The battle system is a lot deeper than what you are shown in the first battles. Also, the datalog is just like the codex from Mass Effect (and is less daunting than the one in Dragon Age), in that it gives you plenty of backstory and info about the game...nobody's making you read it, and if you did read it, you could knock it out in less than 10 minutes.

In short, I've played better JRPGs this gen than FFXIII, but you don't seem to be willing to give it a chance. The game has flaws, but they aren't what you mentioned at all. JRPGs are not dead, you've just stopped liking them.
