I only brought a PSP 6 months ago, and specifically set out to get a PSP-3000 model for a few reasons.
1) I like having that shiney box when I purchase a game
2) I didnt want to also invest in buying more memory cards when they were full
3) it has a bigger screen than the Go
4) You can pick up a UMD game for a very affordable price as they get a bit older. Such as I picked up GoW: CoO for 7.99 pre-owned, I would have to pay more for games off PSN such as that.
5) None PSPGo's were cheaper
