People don't go by definitions, but connotations.

Therefore, YOU saying FF isn't an RPG isn't correct in the colloquial sense.

I'm saying that the only reason JRPGs are considered RPGs is because they've always been classified (incorrectly) as such. If they had been known as Japanese Adventure Games, then we would barely even see the RPG elements, as they would be known as adventure games. 

 

I'm not saying that FF isn't considered an RPG, I'm saying that it isn't an RPG. These are two HUGELY different things.
