Listen, it's clear that we have different ideas of what classifies an RPG. Since you're using connotations, JRPGs are RPGs. Since I'm using definitions, they are not. The connotation comes from the consensus of the what the word implies.
RPGs have a connotation that follows what I said and what the majority of other gamers believe as well. Connotations are what are used in normal English, not the definition. People identify more with connotation.
Just as well, the connotation of an RPG is what I stated explicitly. You can't stamp your feet and say connotations are wrong, that's what everyone believes them to be. So stop trying to dismiss a connotation's validity to prove your point.
