Reason Ms is silent is because they have no money to make off 3D.

The best dividens they could hope for by introducing 3D is to boost sales of the console slightly. However to do that, they have to make it a lot more user friendly than PS3.

There are 6 million existing 3D TV owners who can't use the PS3, not because their TV is not capable of showing 3D which PS3 is outputting...but because PS3 will not even turn 3D on unless your TV has HDMI 1.4.

There are also many millions of 120 hz monitor owners, CRT owners and projector users who can do 3D gaming but are left out in the cold for with the PS3 since it requires HDMI 1.4.

If 360 is able to introduce 3D which works for these users, it will easily make a bigger impact than PS3, which requires you to buy a brand new TV.

Actually, I think the biggest hinderence to 3D gaming is simply the glasses, that's where Nintendo got things right.

on a big TV without glass the 3Dimage will only be available if you sit stright infront of the screen.not so much on a small screen

Right, that's why the glasses suck-- you pretty much have to have them and it just plain sucks having to have them.  They get smudged easily, they're annoying to wear because they're those terrible unisex glasses, sucks even more to wear them ontop of glasses, and you have to have a pair for every possible person that might watch.

When I'm watching TV by myself, I'm actually usually slightly left, when I'm watching TV with my wife, I'm always on the left and she's on the right.  The only time I'm ever in the middle of my couch is when I'm playing a game and even that's not 100%.

I've had as many as eight people crammed into my living rooms to watch movies, does that mean I need eight pairs of glasses?

Again, that's where Nintendo is doing things right-- you don't need the glasses.  Ever.

-edit-

Also note that I don't think that the 3DS is the end all of 3D gaming.  I haven't even seen it yet to know how good it is and I'm still not convinced 3D is the next big thing.  If Nintendo succeeds then I think handheld 3D may be a hit and if head tracking actually works that might be cool, but as far as I'm concerned anything having to do with wearing the glasses is a giant fail.

yeah i hate glasses too

even the sun glasses people wear all the time just to look 'COOL'

kudo tsunoda with those sunglasses looks so stupid all the time,i don't believe he wore it onstage at E3

anyways i have tested Panasonic's 3d glasses and they are very gripy sports like, like them
