You see, they were planning to take OTHER OS out since the SLIM didn't have OTHER OS to begin with, and just used "security reasons" as an excuse.. taking out OTHER OS frees up an SPU and that right there is 10-15% of extra processing power.. this will allow 3D games to work.. not only that, but allow games that don't use 3D to have improved visuals more so than those seen in UNCHARTED 2 or GOD OF WAR III.. Rumors are circulating that the PS3 is getting an interface overhaul redo, and PSN plus is releasing at e3. 3D gaming is launching on Playstation 3, and PS move is also launching later this year..
so.. Completely new interface More processing power PSN plus 3D motion gaming it can do everything the playstation3 can already do this means.. Playstation3 has evolved into Playstation4, or will do so this year.. and if sony rebrands it once again.. and bundles it with MOVE and pushes 3D like crazy (get a free ps4 with a sony bravia 3D TV) then its going to push an entire generation into the system. Imagine they launch early, without really launching.. PLAYSTATION 4 IS THERE TRUMP CARD =O |
this actually.......it's a pretty good thought.
Right now the PS3 is using 6 SPUs out of 8....the other 2 without use are "one" for safety and the other is for OS purposes....
and with that, i've to say that if this is true...it's an EPIC win.
