imagine they unlock the spu on the ps3 that isn't used, and bundle it with MOVE/3D GAMES/3D MOVIES and call it the ps4 lol it would work

Don't forgot another of the SPU's was dedicated to the other OS, so now there are two unused SPU's

*redesigned xmb
*PSN subscription
*Move
*3D gaming

so I agree they could be saying the PS3's new self is that different it could class itslef as the ps4

Uhm, how the hell would there be two extra SPUs to use in future PS3s? All of a sudden, the XMB (or whatever it will be called if it's redesigned) will not require one? And no way Sony will create PS3s with one extra functional SPU. Developers can create games with slightly better graphics, but alienate the entire current PS3 userbase. No way.

I agree with the rest, but the PS3 will remain every bit the hardware it is now.

Sorry i meant SPE'S!! The ps3 has 7 of them, 5 for gaming 6th for the other OS and the 7th is locked

unlock the 7th via an update and the 6th isnt used for other OS anymore, hense two free SPE's and this is with ALL PS3'S so there would be no alienating which you speak of
