you can teleport to locations, just put a waymarker where you want to go then go to the travel wheel things and it'll take you straight there.
i dont mind the killing in free roam i find it fun, the only problem i have with it is that your location is given away far too easily on the radar and then with a big symbol above your head when your in view of other players! so theres absolutely no sniping or hiding from people as they know where you are at all times!
